On this day, 24 September 2026, we would like to celebrate World Maritime Day to mark the start of NordWeather’s new website.

Maritime is an industry that connects the world, in trade and in the economy. Few of us think of how it is always operating to make sure we receive the products we need in the post or in the shop. Yet, there are seafarers out there dealing with challenges of being at sea, from isolation, to facing the elements of the weather.
Nordweather is a brand new platform making meteorology accessible for all, written by meteorologists and earth scientists passionate about the weather, nature and the outdoors.

The weather affects us all in our daily lives, not just heavy and high-risk industries like maritime and the transport sector. That is why we bring weather stories closer to you, on land and out at sea.
Meteorology and maritime are intricately connected, so there is no better day than today to launch our brand new weather news platform. While we begin to sail across Norway with weather news, including forecasts and impacts, we will also share environmental topics such as climate change and gardening.
Eventually, we will be entering a wider Scandinavian context, to show how system interconnect. Because the weather is not just isolated ‘out there’ or on our screens in the latest forecasts. The weather connects us as people, industries, and across our borders throughout Scandinavia and the Nordic region.
